One Weekend, One Rental Car: How We Would Actually Use It

Open desert highway with mountains

Palm Springs is easy to navigate with rideshares, but if you've got a rental car for a weekend, we'd use it intentionally instead of letting it sit in the driveway.

Our experience

In town, we still prefer Ubers to dinners and bars to avoid parking and to enjoy drinks. With wheels, we'd dedicate one day to leaving the valley — Temecula wine country is a perfect 'we're not in the desert anymore' contrast, and it's a completely different texture of Southern California. The other days, we'd keep the car parked: walking, biking, and rideshares keep the trip feeling relaxed instead of like a driving marathon.

Try it

Plan a Temecula wine day via GetYourGuide and base yourself in town through Klook, or browse stays on HomeExchange using referral code roderick-15918.
