Indian Canyons — The Desert Hike We Actually Send People To

Desert canyon at golden hour

If you only have time for one Palm Springs hike, we always point people to Indian Canyons.

Our experience

It's the rare desert trail that feels lush — a real palm oasis with running water, shade in summer, and trails for every fitness level. We like Andreas Canyon for the easy out-and-back, and Murray Canyon when we want a longer morning. The entry fee supports the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, on whose ancestral land the canyons sit, which we think adds meaning to the visit.

Try it
