Sunnylands — The Free Half-Day That Surprises Every Visitor

Desert gardens with mid-century architecture

We routinely send visitors to Sunnylands and they come back saying it was the best thing they did all week.

Our experience

The gardens are free, the air-conditioned visitor center is a small architectural gem, and the desert plantings are a quiet master class in what thrives here. We treat it as a slow half-day: a walk through the gardens, the short film about the Annenbergs, and coffee in the café. If you can get a ticket to tour the historic home (they go fast and are released a month at a time), do it.

Try it

Pair it with a Rancho Mirage stay through Klook or browse stays on HomeExchange using referral code roderick-15918, and add a nearby experience through GetYourGuide.
